CMIC Ambulatory Surgery Center Plan Provides New Option for Massachusetts’ Doctors
GLASTONBURY, CT – July 31, 2009 – CMIC, a leading doctor-owned medical malpractice insurer serving Connecticut and Massachusetts, today announced the launch of a professional liability policy for Massachusetts’ Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
The new offering is modeled after CMIC’s Connecticut policy launched
last year. “Following the launch of our program in Connecticut, we received several
requests for a similar program in Massachusetts," said Michael Morgan, CMIC’s director
of business development. “We are pleased to provide Massachusetts’ doctors with an excellent alternative provided by an A- rated admitted carrier.”
The professional liability policy includes a consent-to-settle clause, claims defense using Massachusetts’ best malpractice defense attorneys, comprehensive loss prevention services and premium payment options with no finance charge. It also includes 30 day coverage for mergers, acquisitions and newly created entities. As part of the Ambulatory Surgery Center package, CMIC can place additional coverages with A rated admitted carriers for business property/liability, workers compensation, auto, EPL, D&O, E&O, Fiduciary Liability and ERISA Pension Bond Liability. The program is available through any CMIC affiliated broker.
