CMIC Appoints Michael F. Morgan as Director of Business Development

GLASTONBURY, CT – April 15, 2008 – CMIC, a leading doctor-owned medical malpractice insurer serving Connecticut and Massachusetts, today announced that it has named Michael F. Morgan to fill the position of director of business development.

Morgan is responsible for leading the company’s strategic initiatives to analyze and develop innovative products to meet malpractice insurance and service needs of medical communities in Connecticut and Massachusetts. He will work closely with CMIC leadership, affiliated brokers and policyholders alike.

“Michael’s wealth of experience in the many aspects of malpractice insurance and risk management combined with his refined relationship building skills make him a natural fit for this position,” said Denise Funk, CMIC’s chief executive officer. “His sharp insight into the needs of our policyholders and the medical community as a whole will be vital to the development of truly unique products that address the core needs of healthcare professionals.”

Morgan joined CMIC in 1989. He served as CMIC’s Litigation Manager before moving to Darwin Professional Underwriters as Claims Manager in 2004. He returned to CMIC as Director of Massachusetts Operations in 2007 to assist in the company’s expansion into the state of Massachusetts. Morgan’s experience and background led to his new appointment.
